Hello Social was appointed as Uber’s integrated social media agency off the back of a successful launch for luxury p2p ride option ‘Uber Premier’ at the 2019 Melbourne Cup Carnival where close to 70,000 attendees arrived and departed using the Uber app.

To firmly insert Uber’s new luxury ride option into the social conversation, Hello Social orchestrated a national outreach #ArriveInStyle campaign. #ArriveInStyle personifies the top-of-the-range vehicles Uber Premier has on its roster – perfect for special occasions like the Melbourne Cup.

Hello Social’s team was on the ground all week from AAMI Victoria Derby Day through to the Seppelt Wines Stakes Day, capturing the Uber Premier experience, curating interactive live coverage through Uber’s social media channels and managing Uber’s talent.

The event-specific paid media strategy included a User Generated Content (UGC) competition for racegoers to share their arrival experience to win a trip home in the Uber Chopper, with one winner chosen every day during the carnival.

Hello Social managed the logistical challenge of flying 160 celebrities to and from Flemington Racecourse on the Uber Chopper, and broadcasting the #ArriveInStyle story through their social channels. Some talent included The Bachelor’s Tim Robards & Anna Heinrich, Cosmopolitan’s Woman of the Year Elle Ferguson, TV personalities Scott Tweedie, Rachael Finch, Shaynna Blaze, Elyse Knowles, sports stars Nick Cummins, Chris Judd & Marc Murphy, comedian, and radio host Andy Lee and partner Rebecca Harding,

On day one – AAMI Victoria Derby Day – Hello Social’s film crew delivered a same-day edit of the Uber #ArriveInStyle experience specifically for Instagram. The film was viewed more than 26,000 times within a day of the event.

Furthermore, Hello Social’s in-house design team produced a series of animated ads promoting Uber Premier and the Uber Chopper competition, as well as media backdrops, social-specific collateral and digital branding for all marketing outputs, which were picked up by the national press.

      • On National Burger Day, 2019, Virgin Australia wanted to surprise fans by sharing a secret crew tradition. The tradition goes on every Sydney to Ballina stopover, the crew would coordinate getting Ballina Burgers ready, onboard and eaten because they were just that good. Helping Virgin Australia brings this forgotten tradition to life, our production team managed on-ground and in-air filming, pulled off an activation at Ballina Byron Gateway Airport’s arrival hall which delighted over 120 unsuspecting passengers and Cabin Crew with the very same Ballina Burgers, and produced finished assets for the brand to readily leverage across social and digital – all in the span of 24 hours.

We work with China Airlines AU to grow to raise awareness about their destination-oriented brand and tourism routes.

We helped to launch and now continue to grow their Instagram account by building awareness for China Airlines, Taiwan and the destinations Australian travellers can get to via Taipei.

We bring their Facebook and Instagram pages to life with inspirational content, and in their ads we use vibrant imagery featuring natural scenery and overlapping graphic accents. The tone of voice is kind and thought-provoking, just like the creative.

We consistently split test ad elements to find the highest performing, for example using imagery of the on-board experience v destinations, CTAs such as Book Now v Learn More and the inclusion of specific journey information such as ‘Experience Taiwan’ v ‘Melbourne to Taipei.’

Hello Social were presented with challenges including strengthening the IGTO’s social media outreach, the production of quality content for social media, building and maintaining a community presence and brand realignment as an Ombudsman service.

Our key achievements over the last year include launching the Facebook account and managing their ongoing presence on the platform. We have been involved in various important aspects of IGTO’s social media campaigns, including the production of quality social media content including video production, illustration and animation. We have also helped to build an extensive community management guide for responding to social media interactions on our Facebook account.

Hello Social created and implemented an all-encompassing social strategy for Facebook and Instagram to increase awareness amongst the house-proud, reno-lover Australian community, nurture our dedicated Clipsal trade community and also to support our major sponsorship of The Block 2018 and returning sponsorship in 2019.

Hello Social also kicked off a home & distribution campaign ‘What does home mean to you?’, which showed how the brand brings home to life through authentic relatable stories. This campaign alone was deployed and captured via social content, Facebook & Instagram advertising, major competition giveaway, user generated content, video production, talent management and reporting.

On the Clipsal Facebook and Instagram channels, Hello Social utilises content production in an always-on (ongoing) capacity from a selection of key talent in the home styling and trade space, as well as leveraging user generated content. These content streams are used in social content and ads to convey Clipsal’s messaging to promote the brand and products to a consumer and trade market.
